Within the framework of the Hepatitis C Elimination State Program, an information session and free screening were held at Caucasus International University. The campaign focuses on the early detection and treatment of hepatitis C, aiming to significantly enhance public health outcomes.
Please be aware that Hepatitis C is a viral infection that is often asymptomatic but can lead to severe health complications if not diagnosed and treated promptly.
The state elimination program enables thousands of Georgian citizens to access free medical services. The program includes widespread screening campaigns and educational meetings conducted both in the capital and across the regions of Georgia. A particular emphasis is placed on engaging young people. Therefore, most of the sessions in Tbilisi are held for university students.
It is noteworthy that the state elimination program has achieved remarkable success, with 99% of patients undergoing treatment being cured of hepatitis C.
