Caucasus International University has also actively participated in the International Science and Innovation Festival held from 24 September to 8 October and conducted its first event - Scientific-Practical Seminar – “Challenges and Prospects of Modern Media Education”.
The seminar was held at the Multimedia Center established on the basis of the CIU. The event was opened by Nino Chalaganidze, Head of the Center and Supervisor of the Program in Journalism. Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, CIU Chancellor and Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector welcomed the attenging audience and wished them productive seminar work.
Strategies for preparing printed editions, employment of young journalists in the media labor market, media language of media era, educational potential of social advertising - this is an incomplete list of the issues that were discussed by academic personnel, journalists and media representatives gathered at CIU multimedia Center.
The aim of scientific debates was defined in several key points: establishing unified discussion platform for Georgian leading media school professors, searching for improvement in the quality of teaching the field, and developing a long-term strategic action plan for media education.
After a series of presentations, the seminar discussion panel was held. The attending audience discussed the issues of sectoral journalism, the lack of modern scientific and educational literature, the problems of integration of new directions of curriculum in educational programs and student product monitoring.
Nino Chalaganidze and Sesili Gogiberidze, Head of CIU Scientific Department summarized the seminar and awarded certificates to the participants.
