Examination Format and Assessment Criteria for MA Candidates
Caucasus International University is pleased to announce admission to the following MA Programs for academic year 2017-2017 fall semester.

The registration of MA candidates at Caucasus International University will be held from 4 September to 23 September, 2017.
The following documents must be submitted during the registration:
- A copy of ID
- 2 photos ¾; a printed and an electronic version (on disk);
- A document verifying military draft registration (for male students);
- Notarized copies of BA diploma or diploma of equivalent academic degree and a diploma supplement;
- English proficiency certificate of B1/B2 level (on those programs where precondition is the knowledge of English) In case of no certificate an applicant has to take an English exam at University language centre;
Exam Format and Assessment Criteria for MA Program Candidates
CIU Language Centre English language diagnostic test will be held on 25 September, 2017 for the following MA Program candidates:
- MA Program in International Marketing;
- MA Program in International Relations and International Security;
- MA Program in Georgian Viticulture-Winemaking.
The exam in specialty will be held on 27 September, 2017 for the following MA programs:
- MA Program in Law;
- MA Program in International Marketing;
- MA Program in International Relations and International Security;
- MA Program in International Business Management;
- MA Program in Georgian Viticulture-Winemaking.

The maximum grade for each task is 10 points.

7-8 points: content and formal side of the work is good; however, it does not demonstrate complete knowledge in relation to the given issue;
5-6 points: the issue is discussed correctly; however, it is not complete.
3-4 points: answer is vague, and a student demonstrates poor knowledge;
1-2 points: work is incomplete. It demonstrates only some points.
0 points: the question is not answered.

Brief Description
MA candidate has to demonstrate minimal skills and knowledge in the following:
- History of International Relations;
- History and Structure of International Organizations;
- Political System of Georgia;
- Recent History of International Politics: World War II “Cold War”;
- General Information about International Security Processes.

- Discuss significance of the centres of global influences or super-states and their factors in world politics state your opinion and evaluation in relation to current international political events);
- What are the factors of moral and ethics in the processes of international relations (bring your argument);
- Discuss the phenomenon of communism and its impact on world political processes (describe your viewpoints);
- Talk about the force factor of international relations in general context (bring your viewpoints and evaluations);
- What is NATO and the role of the organization in international security (name concrete factors);
- Highlight reasons for the establishment of United Nations and its role in the processes of international relations (describe your opinion);

Exam Format and Evaluation Criteria:
The exam for MA Program in International Relations and International Security will be written.
Assessment Criteria:
15 open cloze – 15 points in total;
5 close-end questions – 5 points in total.
In order to pass the exam a candidate has to accumulate at least 8 points.
- You should choose one from 4 essays during the exam and make up the argumentative text, it should be at least one page; Maximum - 10 points, minimum - 5 points.
In total you can get maximum 30 points.
A candidate who accumulates minimum 8 points in open and closed-end questions and 5 points in essay will pass the exam.
