“The Young Barristers” organized a meeting with students at Caucasus International University. The organization placed emphasis on two issues; the first was the legislative regulation about internship in Labour Code of Georgian and the second – the competition of analytical topics announced by “the Young Barristers”.
The aim of the “Young Barristers” legislative proposal is to regulate the definition of internship and related legal issues on the legislative level. As stated by Archil Kaikatsishvili, the head of the organization, the current legislation does not provide a definition of the internship; however it is considered to be an unpaid job, which offers professional development for inexperienced staff. The aim of the legislative proposal is the legislative regulation of internship, and protection of the labour rights of the youth.
It is worth mentioning that during the preparation of the proposal, international experience had been taken into account including the US, Germany, Albania and Denmark.
During the meeting the head of “Young Barristers” introduced the requirements of Analytical Topics competition to students.
