International Epilepsy Day

An informational-educational session will be held in connection to International Epilepsy Day at CIU Conference Hall on February 11, 2019 at 15:00. The event is initiated and organized jointly
by the Institute of Neurology and Neuropsychology, Epilepsy Center, Georgian Chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy, Association of Young Epileptologists and CaucasusInternational University.

The aim of the above-mentioned event is to support the people suffering from epilepsy, eliminate epilepsy related prejudice in the society, introduce appropriate information and decrease epilepsy stigma.

For this reason, within the framework of the informational-educational session, the presenters (Sophio Kasradze, Giorgi Lomidze, Nino Gogatishvili, Nino Gzirishvili, Davit Kvernadze, Tamar Ediberidze) will deliver speeches on such significant issues as:

• - The history of epilepsy and psychological foundations for epilepsy stigma;
• - Education problems in adolescents with epilepsy;
• - Epilepsy and treatment during pregnancy;
• - Quality of life of people with epilepsy;
• - Epilepsy, philosophy and religion.

CIU academic personnel, administration, students and the individuals who are interested in the topic are welcome to attend the event.
